Over time your extraction system may not perform as it should which would be detrimental to the working environment and the health of your workforce. For this reason, the HSE require by law that your extraction system is tested at least once every fourteen months to ensure everything is in working order.
The HSE Inspectors could visit you at any time and you must be able to present to them, your up-to-date service reports and documents which confirm that you are compliant with COSHH.
Our skilled P601 qualified LEV testing engineers will test your system with a qualitative and quantitative assessment. This means readings will be taken and recorded by means of inserting a Pitot tube into the duct and recording an air velocity reading, as well as taking a static pressure reading. Our engineers will then assess the performance of the system visually, and if necessary by using smoke generators and dust lamps.
We will then provide you with a full report of the system and its performance. This will state if the system has passed or failed, as well as any remedial work that may be required to bring the extraction system back to an acceptable standard. A schematic layout of the system will be provided, along with photographs of each LEV Unit.
ATEX Explosion regulations are something to be taken very seriously, our engineers will assess the system to check if those regulations are being met. If they are not this will be stated in the report. Please follow the link to see the full Practical Guidance for Suppliers and Operators of Solids Handling Equipment for Potentially Explosive Dusts
We can perform the thorough test and examination on any form of LEV, including:
LEV Direct Engineers are all IPAF certified and may require the use of a cherry picker or scissor lift to access high level test points. This is the customers responsibility to deem necessary and to provide access equipment. Our engineers have the right to refuse to perform work which endangers their wellbeing due to poor access equipment.
Systems with over 25 machines may be subject to higher charges. Please call our head office to arrange an LEV test for anything over 250 miles from WF12 7RF, Dewsbury.
If the LEV system is found to be larger than the selected size, our engineers have the right to stop the test at the maximum allowed for machines. Unless the extra payment is confirmed whilst on site.
LEV Tests have a lead time of at least 2 weeks. Once an LEV Test has been booked, our head office will be in touch with you to organise a date.
